OTHER NOTES
With or Without You was the first single from the Joshua Tree.  It headed straight for the top of the charts around the world, reaching the top five in the US, Canada, and Europe.  This was the first single not released on the CBS label in Ireland.  Instead it bore the familiar Island logo as U2's initial contract with CBS in Ireland ended.

With or Without You has gone on to be a staple of live shows since the Joshua Tree tour.   A live version from Edmonton in 1997 appeared as a b-side to the Popheart / Please single.  It also appeared on the Hasta La Vista Baby fan club CD from the 1997 Mexico concert.  A live version from 1987's stop in Tempe is included in the film Rattle and Hum, but did not appear on the accompanying album.  It did however, appear on a promo release, Excerpts from Rattle and Hum.
