| OTHER NOTES |
| The soundtrack for the movie "Captive" is the only solo album
to date by one of the members of U2. The Edge was approached to score
the film, which was released in the UK and had little publicity in North
America. The Edge approached Michael Brook, the creator of the infinite
guitar which his regularily uses, to help him with this soundtrack album.
Brook co-produced and helped with the instrumentals and some of the writing
chores.
Edge also approached a young vocalist just beginning to appear on the
Dublin scene to provide vocals for the title track. This was Sinead
O'Connor, who has since gone on to have a very successful career of her
own. Larry Mullen also provided drums on the title track. Heroine
was released as a single.
The music on "Captive" is a mix of ambient styles, and is quite a soothing
listen. The majority of tracks are instrumental and quite beautiful. |
