OTHER NOTES
Hutchence was the lead singer with the Australian band INXS. When Hutchence passed away in 1997 he left behind a partially completed album of solo work. One song, Slide Away, was left incomplete vocally, and Bono was approached to complete the lyrics and sing on the track.  Bono had long been a friend of Hutchence. Although not credited on the album with co-writing, it was widely reported that he had in fact written additional lyrics to finish this track.
RELATED RELEASES
  • The song "Elegantly Wasted" by INXS was supposedly written by Hutchence after a night out with Bono, and was loosly based on that evening. 
  • The song "Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of" from All That You Can't Leave Behind was written in memory of Hutchence. 
  • Slide Away was released on the album Michael Hutchence as well. 
  • Slide Away also was featured on a US four track promo for the track A Straight Line from the Michael Hutchence album.
