| OTHER NOTES |
| Bono growing up was close friends with a lad who went by
the name Gavin Friday. To this day Gavin remains a friend, and a
close confidant of Bono. Gavin also has his own solo career in the
music business, getting his start with the Virgin Prunes when Bono was
getting started with U2. On Gavin's third album, Shag Tobacco, Bono
and The Edge stopped by to provide backing vocals on "Little Black Dress".
This single was released from that album. But it is not the song
which contains the backing vocals by Bono and The Edge. Instead,
this release is listed here because of the fourth track on the single,
"Billy Boola". That song was written for use in the movie In the
Name of the Father, and is performed by Gavin and Bono. On this recording,
it is listed as the "Tim Simenon Movie Mix". This mix is the same
mix that is found on the soundtrack album. It is the same length
and listening to the two side by side, one cannot hear any audible difference
between the two.
Other formats of the single, including the commercially released 12"
vinyl, did not contain "Billy Boola" but instead had another mix of the
title track which had no U2 appearances. |
