| In 2005 Bono performed live with several other artists as
part of a Tsunami Relief project peforming The Beatles' "Across the Universe".
Joining him onstage for vocals were Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keyes, Norah
Jones, Stephen Tyler of Aerosmith, Scott Weilland of Velvet Revolver, Brian
Wilson of the Beach Boys, Tim McGraw, Billie Joe from Green Day.
This live performance of the song is the version on this release.
The song was released the day after the performance was given at the
annual Grammy Awards on the iTunes music store. All proceeds from
the sale of the song were given to Tsunami Relief Efforts. The song
was released by itself. The accompanying "cover" is a digital image,
taken from the live broadcast performance. |
