| OTHER NOTES |
| Bono, Gavin Friday and Maurice Seezer wrote three songs for
inclusion in the In the Name of the Father soundtrack
album. Two of those songs was recorded by the three, the other was
given to Sinead O'Connor to record. That song was "You Made Me the
Thief of Your Heart". She also recorded another piece while in the
studio which would become the b-side of this single which is mostly instrumental.
The song was used over the closing credits of the movie, and the instrumental
version was used within the movie. "You Made Me the Thief of Your
Heart" was nominated for a Golden Globe award that year.
The song was recorded at STS Studios. The room was lit only by
candle and Sinead brought a doll into the studio to sing to, as well as
a vase of flowers. The session ended at 2:30 in the morning after
many takes. The entire recording session is covered in Bill Flanagan's
book "Until the End of the World". |
